Marcos Kroker is currently the Head of Transportation Expansion in Design and Construction at the Region of Waterloo. He is a professional engineer with over 23 years of experience specializing in transportation projects. He has managed a wide variety of transportation Environmental Assessments (EAs), preliminary designs, detailed designs and contract administration  for new roads, road widenings and bridge projects. He has been heavily involved with the Region’s roundabout program including the design and construction of over a dozen multi-lane and single lane roundabouts and is the Chair of the Region’s Roundabout Coordination Committee.  He has also been involved with airport runway extensions, apron expansion and other supportive airport infrastructure at the Waterloo Region International Airport.

 

Steve van De Keere is a professional engineer who has been with the Region of Waterloo since 1998.  Prior to 1998, Steve worked for ten years in the consulting industry.  Steve’s main interest lies with Transportation Engineering and he is passionate about roundabouts.  Steve has been involved either directly or providing oversight in the implementation of nearly every one of the Region’s 23 roundabouts.  In his role as Director of Transportation, Steve is heavily involved not only with the traffic engineering aspects of the Regional road network, but also the operations and maintenance aspect of the Region’s road network.
