Dean Rurak is a principal with Yaku Consulting Ltd with more than 27 years of experience in the planning, design, construction and management of municipal infrastructure.

Dean’s experience includes infrastructure management roles within a municipality as well as roles with both consulting engineering and construction firms. He has direct experience in developing asset management programs including gap analysis, strategies and plans, and identifying and implementing technology solutions to aid in delivery of municipal services including SCADA, CMMS and Business Intelligence solutions. 

He is a past member of the Ontario Municipal Benchmarking Initiative Expert subcommittee, past chair of the WEAO/OWWA Asset Management Committee and has participated in a number of industry wide initiatives such as AwwaRF/EPA Asset Management Research Needs Roadmap, National Benchmarking for Canadian municipalities and the development of CSA 250 Mapping of Underground Utility infrastructure  - formed from a nationwide committee of industry subject matter experts, regulators, general interest and user groups. 

 

Khurram Aziz received his MSc and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and the Vienna University of Technology, Austria in 2003 and 2008 respectively.

Khurram has over fifteen years of experience in Academia and Industry and has completed several IT and engineering projects in diverse sectors including telecommunications, leasing and financing, inventory and accounts management.

He is currently working as a Business Process Specialist at Yaku Consulting Ltd. where he is involved in the development of asset management programs for municipal clients.
