2025 Effective Management CSA04 Semester 1 - ONLINE

Course Completion Deadline

This is a Semester 1 course, it must be completed by April 30th, 2025. Failure to complete the course by this date will result in the loss of all course progress and may be subject to additional re-registration fees.

Course Schedule

This is a self-paced online course. Participants will work through each module individually at their own speed. You will have access to the course 24 hours a day 7 days a week so you can learn when and where you want.

The course, activities, and tests take approx. 20 hrs to complete. You will have access to the course until the end of April. 

Lesson content is presented as text and videos. There are also interactive activities. There is no interaction with a live instructor. You can contact the instructors by email if you have any questions.

Particpants will receive an enrollment email within 48 hrs of registering. Please check your junk mail if you do not see it. If this is your first online course with good roads, you will also get a new user email. Please use the link in the new user email to set your password.

Note: Online courses take place on our education website not our main website. The websites do not share the same usernames and passwords.

Evaluation Process

There are 9 modules in this course. You will have an assessment after module 3, 6, and 9. Each assessment is worth 33% of the final grade. A final grade of 65% or higher is required to pass this course.

Accreditation

This course is recognized by:

  • This course or Managing Human Resources is a mandatory requirement for the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors (AORS) Certified Road Supervisors – Intermediate level (CRS-I) certification program.
  • This course may be used for the technical specialist program only. Point Value = 5
  • The Engineering Institute of Canada awards 2 Continuing Education Units to this course.

Robin Dunn:

Robin Dunn has served as the Township of Oro-Medonte's Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) since 2007. With over 30 years of diverse executive and management experience, he currently provides corporate leadership in implementation of continuous improvement in governance, administration, operations and service delivery.

Robin holds a Master of Arts - Leadership & Management, a Bachelor Degree - Business Administration, a Post Graduate Diploma - Strategy & Innovation, is recognized as a Board Professional and is Certified as an Engineering Technologist.

Robin currently serves as the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada (CGIC) Vice President, and is active at the leadership board table with the Ontario Municipal Administrators Association (OMAA), serving as a Past President.

Robin is a Past President of Technology Professionals Canada (TPC) and the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians & Technologists (OACETT). Robin has volunteered as a course Director for Ontario Good Roads - C.S. Anderson School - Effective Management over the last ten years.

Participating in the community, Robin currently serves as a Board Member of the Huronia Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic and was active in Scouts Canada, holding a number of leadership positions.

 

Jeff Celentano:

Jeff is a retired municipal management professional, with over 34 years of Local Government experience, all of it in Northeastern Ontario.  

Jeff is a retired Registered Professional Planner and he worked for 30 years in a variety of roles with the City of North Bay. For the last 4.5 years of his career, Jeff was the C.A.O./Clerk for the Municipality of Callander.

Since 1995, Jeff has been a Sessional Instructor in Local Government, Public Management and Human Geography at Nipissing University. He is also a trained facilitator. Over the past 10 years, he has also worked as a Facilitator/Trainer for three municipal-sector not-for-profit organizations.

From 2014 to 2019, Jeff held a part-time Provincial government appointment as Chair of the North Bay – Mattawa Source Protection Committee under the Clean Water Act. The North Bay – Mattawa SPC is one of 19 in the province, charged with the main responsibility of developing and monitoring Drinking Water Source Protection Plans under the Act.
