Join Ontario's Premier Road Safety Education Event

This comprehensive 4-day program begins with a full-day Safe System Principles conference attended by all participants, followed by three intensive days of signs and markings training. Understand how effective visual communication through signs and pavement markings is essential to the Safe System approach—providing clear, consistent guidance that helps prevent crashes.

Course Description

Day 1: Safe System Principles Conference (All Participants) Learn how signs and pavement markings contribute to the Safe System by providing positive guidance and supporting predictable road user behavior.

Days 2-4: Signs and Lines Training Signs and Lines offers practical experience in using Ontario Traffic Manuals 5, 6 & 11. You will learn, through participation in group activities, how signs and lines assist drivers as they travel from their point of origin to their destination. You will return to your municipality with an understanding of how these manuals work together within a Safe System framework, plus a list of best practices to help minimize risk and defend the municipality in an insurance claim.

Who Should Attend

Decision makers and individuals responsible for the selection and placement of regulatory signs, warning signs, and the pavement, hazard and delineation markings.

Accreditation

  • This course qualifies as a “specialized course” for the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors (AORS) Certified Road Supervisors – Intermediate level (CRS-I) certification program.
  • The Engineering Institute of Canada awards 2 Continuing Education Units to this course.
